Sridhar Rathinam is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon in the University Hospitals of Leicester. He qualified and underwent General Surgical Training in Madras Medical College and General Hospital in Madras. He underwent his cardiothoracic training in Manchester, Glasgow and as a higher surgical trainee in the West Midlands Cardiothoracic Training programme. He underwent a period of research studying the Proteomics in Lung Cancer in the University of Birmingham.
He is a cofounder of the Birmingham Thoracic Masterclass, Thoracic Nurses Course and Simulation in Crisis Management in Thoracic Surgery Courses. He is a faculty member in national and international cardiothoracic courses. He is a faculty member of EACTS academy and was the secretary of Local Organising Committee of the 21st European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery(ESTS). He is a faculty member in the SCTS University.
He is a member of the SCTS Education committee and the SCTS Thoracic Surgery tutor. He is also the Regional Surgical Advisor, East Midlands for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
